Maxine’s July Roundup: New Book, New Serum, New Office!
August 04, 2020
Another month has whizzed by in this, the strangest of times, and I don't know about you, but the more we get back to 'normal' the stranger it seems. The term 'new normal' is doing the rounds, and I guess that's exactly what it is and why it feels strange; it's new, a new behaviour and a new world.
While some of us are still socialising remotely, some of us are venturing out for a socially distanced catch up. Who could have predicted saying to your nearest and dearest 'just popping out for a socially distanced coffee'? But there you have it.
I do, however, love a virtual meeting. I don't feel the pressure to be groomed and polished. People are feeling comfortable with less or no makeup, which I, for one, find quite freeing. This ties in wonderfully with the positive vibes and reviews from our Absoluters across social media as they too are daring to go bare and showing off their beautiful skin as the result of using Absolute Collagen. It really feels like there is some kind of movement brewing - perhaps the positive outcome from the pandemic is we are becoming more visually accepting of ourselves, or is that just me?
In other news this month... I started writing my book! Nothing major - just my story of how, when I found the time to step into my own skin, the world opened up to me, and for me, that time was around when I turned 50. This could only happen when my family no longer needed me, because before this I would wake every morning and say to myself 'who does everyone need me to be today'? Sound familiar? And I adored it; it was right for me, it was my role. But when my youngest, Margot, turned 18, something happened: I could be me, Maxine. Not mum, daughter, sister, wife etc., just Maxine... and the timing couldn't have been more perfect!
It's the story of how, when I started my Absolute Collagen journey, no one believed in me, a grey-haired 50-year-old woman with no business experience. A tale of self-discovery and self-belief, resilience and passion, a tale of a woman on a mission to share her product and create a warm, supportive, loyal tribe of Absoluters who are treated with integrity at every step of their Absolute Collagen journey, and the tale of a brand known for integrity and the personal touch.
With the tip of a hat, my story is a nod to women - because we are, after all, bloody amazing!
Talking of amazing, I think I might pop!! Maxerum™, our collagen-boosting face serum, launched Friday July 31st, exclusively to our fabulous UK-based Absoluters!
Two years in the making, Maxerum is an absolute powerhouse containing the perfect blend of superstar ingredients for your skin. We’ve worked so hard on getting this fantastic formula just right, packing each little bottle full of top-quality and clinically-proven skincare boosting ingredients including Matrixyl 3000, Matrixyl Synthe 6, bakuchiol and hyaluronic acid. It works perfectly in conjunction with our collagen supplement for maximum anti-aging effects, so now you can take care of your body and skin both inside and out!
And rounding off our month of “new things”, July also saw us moving into our brand new office and warehouse, which means I’m (slowly) getting my living room back! It was so wonderful to get the team together once more to share ideas, inspire one another and have a great big catch up - another step towards the new normal, although of course hand sanitiser and social distancing are still paramount. We’re still putting the finishing touches on the office with lots of brilliant art, soft furnishings and fun Absolute Collagen touches to really showcase our personality and let our sense of fun shine through - keep your eyes peeled for sneak peeks in future photos and videos as we really put our stamp on this beautiful space.
And finally, I just want to reiterate that all your lovely feedback and comments really do help us and we appreciate every single message, so if you have 5 mins to spare, please pop over and leave us a review on Trustpilot... thank you.
Much love, stay safe & stay sane!
